Your RV's roof is its first line of defense against water damage, and keeping it in good condition is one of the most important parts of long-term RV maintenance. Small cracks, punctures, and worn seams left unaddressed can allow moisture to work into the structure over time, leading to repairs that are far more involved than the original problem.

Roof repair and replacement kits give you everything needed to address common roof issues in one package, from patching damaged sections to completing a full roof membrane replacement. Our selection covers kits compatible with the most common RV roof materials, including EPDM rubber, TPO, and fiberglass.

Identify your roof material type before ordering to make sure you select a kit designed for your specific surface.

What comes in a camper roof replacement kit?

Contents vary by kit, so check each listing before ordering. A full camper roof replacement kit pairs the roof membrane with the adhesive, lap sealant, and seam tape needed to bond and seal it to the deck. Smaller repair kits cover a patch, seam, or tear rather than the whole roof. Measure your roof length and width, including the overhang at the edges, so the membrane you order covers the full deck.

Can I do an RV roof replacement myself?

Many owners handle an RV roof replacement as a DIY project. The job means removing roof fixtures, stripping or cleaning the old membrane, inspecting the plywood decking, and then laying and sealing the new membrane. Any soft or delaminated decking has to be replaced before the new membrane goes down. The rooftop air conditioner also comes off for the job, so if your unit is aging, it is a practical time to swap in one of our Coleman RV air conditioners.

Is there a repair kit for an RV slide-out roof?

Yes. A slide-out roof uses the same membrane materials as the main roof but covers a much narrower section, so a full-roof kit is usually more material than you need. Slide-out roofs also collect standing water and debris, which is why the seams and front edge fail first. Before ordering an RV slide-out roof repair kit, measure the depth and width of the slide-out roof and compare those numbers against the kit dimensions in the listing.

How do I choose a kit for a rubber or TPO roof?

Match the kit to your existing membrane. EPDM (rubber) and TPO roofs use different adhesives and sealants, and a product made for one may not bond properly to the other. An EPDM roof leaves a chalky white residue on your hand as it ages; TPO has a smoother, harder surface. If you are unsure which membrane your RV has, text or call 817-984-1852 with your year, make, and model and our team will help you confirm the right kit.

What should I reseal while the roof is open?

Reseal every roof penetration: vents, skylights, the AC opening, and any wiring entry. Use self-leveling lap sealant on horizontal surfaces and a non-sag sealant on vertical edges. If you run solar or antenna wiring through the roof, a roof cable entry hatch gives the cable a sealed entry point instead of a hole closed with sealant alone. Reinstalling a ducted AC is also a good time to check the interior Coleman ducted ceiling assembly for cracks or a worn gasket.
